Guests stay in our modern 2400 square foot home with large bright
kitchen, dining room, common area, 5 bedrooms and two full bathrooms.
This is mainly the rental of facilities by the day, week or month for work crews,
hunters, fishermen, sports teams etc. Full use of washer, dryer,
microwave, satellite TV and all household facilities.
Sit back and relax in a quiet sunroom or screened in area out back,
barbecue or suntan in the large closed in back yard. Go swimming,
boating, hunting or fishing for walleye, northern pike or brook trout.
Large group tours of the largest power plants in Manitoba can be
arranged through Manitoba Hydro. Hop on the train and experience the
polar bears and bird watching opportunities in Churchill. Experience
and explore the vast northern wilderness and view the northern lights.
Hospital, churches, restaurants, stores, and a convenience store open
7 days a week all within walking distance. Airport, bus and train
shuttle service available. Hunters, fishermen, snowmobile, cross
country ski groups, hockey, curling, baseball, hydro tour groups,
polar bear, bird watching excursions, groups large or small. Everyone
welcome.
Rates start at $40 per
day per person for 3 or more people, $45 per
day per person for 2 or $65 per day for 1 person. This is the
perfect location for a crew of 5 to 8 (or up to 10 or 12 possible)
work crew or tourist traveling to Churchill. Ask for details on discount

| Gillam
is a thriving community 453 air miles (730 km.) North of Winnipeg.
Gillam is about 300 km. north-east of Thompson and is serviced by
an all weather road, PR280 as well as by via rail and an airport.
Gillam has regularly scheduled flights direct to and from Winnipeg.
Monday to Friday provided by Calm Air Ltd. (1 ½ hour flight).
Gillam is a Via Rail terminal point, situated on the Canadian National
Railway line, about half way between Churchill and Thompson and serves
as a support system for major hydro electric operations in Northern
Manitoba. Gillam has developed into a modern and thriving community
because of the construction of several hydro electric generating stations
on the Nelson River. As a result of Manitoba Hydro building their
power dams, Gillam now has many services and businesses. It has a
recreation centre where families can bowl, skate, curl, play hockey,
play badminton all under one roof. This complex also houses our
pool, library
and the gym doubles as a bingo hall and social area for dances, weddings
and other social gatherings. Outdoor recreation is excellent because
of the vast wooded areas and many lakes and rivers; the area is a
paradise for the outdoorsman. Fishing, hunting, boating, ball diamonds,
tot lots, swimming and other leisure time activities are available.
Gillam has a marina about 10 miles from town for the boating enthusiast
and their families. Campers can camp at Steven's Lake Park. Gillam
Air provides chartered flying services, to take you to that special
hunting or fishing spot. The area around Gillam is unlimited for many
winter activities like snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. |
